This is my standard ECU chipping kit with an SST ECU chip that will come with everything you need to chip your own OBD0 or OBD1 Honda/Acura USDM ECU. And I have read you CAN chip and auto AND keep the torque converter lock up function.(eCtune / Crome / Uberdata / Neptune / Hondata / TurboEdit / BRE) Convert to OBD1 ECU via OBD2a>OBD1 jumper harness and simply use an OBD1 ecu (JDM or US) to power the engine, such as a reprogrammed P28. I have read you CAN chip and auto ecu but will lose the torque converter lock up function. HA Motorsports socketed OBD1 P28 Spec VTEC ECU for tuning with Crome Pro. I have read that you CANT chip an auto ecu at all. At most I would use a P06, the vtec ecu is not mapped for non-vtec, but a P28 would probably be your best bet if you are going to use a Vtec ECU, because it has SOHC Vtec maps, which arenвЂ™t that different from non-vtec P06. Ok, in an obd1 95 civic that came from factory with an obd1 d16z6, obd1 m24a automatic transmission and obd1 p28 automatic ecu, is it possible to socket/chip and tune an automatic p28 ecu, while keeping it automatic and not losing any function of the auto trans, specifically the torque converter lock up function? J12 - missing jumper replaced with a wire. Then make sure your ROM is compatible, if its not, reflash it again according to the guide for ROM editors P28, P30 (non-JDM rectangular ECU): J12 jumper.

Now, since this wonderful site is JUST ecu's and tuning, and full of knowledgeable people, I would love to ask my question here withOUT any transmission talk. Hey guys, I am new here and enjoying the information this site has! I have asked this question on a few other forums, in the ecu/tuning sections, and always get the same response about 'diy tranny swap' even though I would post in the ecu section and title the thread with p28 ecu, which gets on my nerves bc I was/am not asking about any transmission whatsoever.
